Becoming a Member

Visiting us for the first time...

If you wish to attend a training session on a Sunday at Sedlescombe Village Hall for the very first time, you will be required to fill out and sign an Membership Application/Disclaimer form in the lobby PRIOR to entering the hall.

Though we try very hard to avoid injuries and thankfully they are very rare, working with these dogs always carries unavoidable risks to people and other dogs,  for this reason you will be required to fill out and sign Membership Application/Disclaimer form.  However filling in the form is no obligation to join.

You can download a copy of the application form at the bottom of this page and either fill it in and email it back to us or bring it to your first session.

Membership:

K9 Rescue Remedy Support Group is a very special club.  It is very important that it remains so, so it is vital that all members have to agree to:

  • Pay the membership fee

  • Pay the weekly fee of £5.00 monthly (£20.00 or £25.00 depending on the number of Sundays in the month)

  • Be non-judgemental about the behaviour of other members dogs

  • Be supportive of other members and help them if at all possible

  • Wear a 'bum-bag' for edible training aids, whilst in club training sessions (food must not be carried in plastic bags or in pockets as many of these dogs find the temptation to grab food too much)

  • Worm their dogs as a part of the programme

  • Flea treat their dogs as a part of the programme

  • Produce evidence that their dogs inoculations are up to date

  • Agree NOT to bring their dog to sessions if they are suspicious that their dog may have any contagious illness.

  • Train their dog to prepare them for the appropriate Kennel Club Good Citizens Award Qualification.

The membership fee entitles owners to:

  • Receive telephone mentoring from a volunteer trainer;

  • Rent training equipment available (such as the spray collar)

  • Buy training aids and other items needed to successfully complete the Kennel Club programmes at very competative rates

Full members may attend all classes (payable in advance)and Associate members may only attend a maximum of two classes per month.
